Emerson Elementary School

Learning for all:

whatever it takes.

Welcome to our class.

At Emerson, Title I Math is available to students in grades one through five who are not yet succeeding at grade level. Classes are held four or five days a week, from 45 to 60 minutes each day. There are three teachers for up to eighteen students in each class.

The Investigations math curriculum uses manipulatives and much exploration to help students understand math concepts. The students use math in contexts which make it relevant to the students, unlike isolated algorhythms. The student workbooks include instructions for parents to help at home and games for families to play to increase the students' facility with numbers. The curriculum includes computer games and recommended web sites for students to practice thinking skills and math facts

My Mission Statement

My mission  as a teacher is to empower students to be lifelong learners, and help them become positive, contributing members of society.  I believe all students can learn and I want them to feel confident, capable and successful. If students can experience the joy and success of learning, they will want to continue their educational journey throughout life.
